African wildlife is being threatened – human encroachment,
poaching and development have all taken their toll. Game ranching sets out
to answer this challenge by providing a sanctuary for animals in their
natural environment so that they can live and breed in safety, providing a
renewable A stay at the Lodge will give you the opportunity to see up to sixteen varieties of antelope from the ubiquitous Impala and the magnificent Sable to Roan, Hartebeest and Waterbuck. The game farm also has Giraffe. These can be tracked on foot or viewed from our specially adapted safari vehicles. You are bound to see the picturesque Burchell’s Zebra and a lucky night drive might surprise Civet, Serval or Porcupine, or, if you are very lucky, Aardvark or Pangolin.
This, along with two large dams, supports a prolific bird population – over 300 bird species have been identified including woodland, wetland and grassland species, many raptors and a range of migrants. Bird calls in the early morning and evening are a delight, particularly Heuglin’s Robin, Turaco, Cuckoo, Guinea Fowl and Francolin.
