Lilayi Polo Safaris

The Miller family have been operating a mixed farming enterprise on a 6000 acre spread of land close to Lusaka, the Zambian Capital, since the early part of the last century. Lilayi Lodge, a 36 bed luxury safari lodge, situated in the Game Ranch section of the farm offers deluxe accommodation and high class cuisine as well as game viewing of over 25 species of mammals and 200 species of birds in unspoilt countryside

 

 

 

The family have had a long involvement in the game of polo and have recently opened their facility to the international polo fraternity. Come and enjoy yourself for a week or two’s polo experience during our pleasant winter season from March through to September. 

 

 

Your polo holiday at Lilayi will include 4 days polo per week with

  • personal coaching sessions with our 2 to 4 goal coaches.

  • stick and ball practice.

  • tournament matches.

  • a wide choice of mounts from a pool of over 30 schooled ponies.

 

TIME OUT


In addition, you will enjoy our mounted safaris among Giraffe, Zebra and other game, or simply an evening game drive in our safari vehicle followed by a sundowner. Let us tailor an outing to suit you and your friend’s polo needs.

 

 

TARIFFS 

Our charge for a polo player is $350.00 per day which covers

  • accommodation and full board at Lilayi Lodge

  • transfers to and from Lusaka airport

  • game drives and a horseback safari

  • 4 days polo activities per week

Non-playing guests will be charged $200.00 per day covering all of the above with the exception of the polo.

Special arrangements can be made to suit particular needs, large groups or any specific requirements.

Since you're coming all the way to Africa, let us arrange a personally escorted safari for you. Lower Zambezi National Park; take an unforgettable canoeing safari watching herds of elephant, waterbuck, buffalo and hippo meandering amongst the spectacularly beautiful maze of channels along the great Zambezi River.
